Connect Parent Group

Connect Parent Group is an attachment-based program designed to support parents of pre-teens (ages 8-12) and teens (ages 13-17) with behavioural and emotional challenges. This group is led by Dr. Elyse Boudreau (Registered Psychologist) and Andrea Weyman-Hickman (Clinical Therapist). Each session provides parents with a new perspective on parent-teen relationships and adolescent development. Parents watch role-plays and try exercises that encourage more choices for responding to their teens’ difficult behaviour.

This group is 11 weeks in duration (10 sessions + 1 feedback session). Parents meet in small groups with two trained group leaders for 1.5 hours each week. The group running in Fall 2024 will be focused on caregivers of teens only (ages 13-17). Our next group will focus on parents and caregivers of pre-teens (ages 8-12).

The next Connect Parent Group will be offered during Fall 2024; see the schedule below:

• Wednesday evenings: 6:00-7:30pm (exact dates TBD).

Registration is now open, and there are a limited number of spaces available for this group. If you are interested, we suggest contacting our office as soon as possible. You will be scheduled for a complimentary meeting with our co-facilitators to determine if the group is a good fit for your needs.
